Welcome to the home of UAW Local 909. As you may have noticed this website is vastly different from the previous website of the past 10 years. We thought that it was well past time to revamp and redesign our  website and bring it up to current standards and give it a new face. This website is the first step in the process and is only a temporary website. You will notice that many of the past pages and functions are missing and ask you to be understanding for all and much more will return. We ask your indulgence and apologies for any problems this may cause.

It is our goal to give you the best website we can possibly build.  New features are planned and new pages are being built.  The old website has served you well ( Hopefully ) and was huge. If fact it was well over 500 pages long and included several thousand graphics or pictures.  Late last December we finally ran out of server space and something had to be done.  Rather than trying to just fix what we have already done, we decided to a completely re-design and give you the best. This is costing you no additional money.  Some of the reasons we are able to do this is that the cost of the server space is provided to you by someone who is a former Local 909 member and a current UAW member at another GM plant at no profit markup to him.  The second reason is that all labor in building the site is donated by a second former Local 909 member and the site itself is maintained by your officers or some family members.  It is a group effort done with no superstars at no profit for no credit.

Over the new few months we will be building the "New and Improved" website with all the old features and many new improvements.  What we have planed will take some time in months but it will be done in all haste. Many new things are planned and we do wish to make use of the internet to its fullest to expand what is available to you which will include new methods for social networking. Now is the time to make suggestions on what you would feel would be the most useful to you.  The UAW does have very definite guidelines for approved websites and we do follow those guideline. Remember this in any requests. For any suggestions Please leave a note at the LOCAL.

Thanks for your time and allowing us to serve you ...

The website team and your local leadership.
